Uljjang, also spelled as Ulzzang (UHL-JANG), is a popular South Korean term literally meaning "best face" or "good-looking". A slang often used by netizens, contests competing for the title of uljjang are held online. They are often thought of as Asia's scene kids, because they have teased hair, the main focus of the make-up is the eyes, they take many pictures and edit them and have the same stereotypical poses.
Some teenage uljjangs grew famous provoked by their looks, and became part of the Korean pop culture. Some of the successful uljjang stars include: Kyu Hye Sun, Lee Kiseop of K-pop boy band U-Kiss, Lee U (Lee Seung Hyun) of K-pop boy band F.Cuz, Hyo Min od K-pop girl group T-ara.
Rules and Mechanics:
1. Have your best face photo uploaded to our official FACEBOOK page. (See WALL/click PHOTOS icon/choose Upload a Photo).
2. It does not matter what camera you use as long as it is clear.
3. Photoshop is allowed but shouldn't be overdone.
4. Uljjang photo must be in the minimum size of 640 x 480 max of 800x600.
5. Uljjang can be both male and female.
6. You can only upload one uljjang photo as your entry.
7. Photos (male and female) with the most "LIKES" will win Circle Lens and special prizes from our sponsors.
8. This contest will run from June 07 and the final count of votes/likes will be on July 31, 2010 till 12 midnight. Awarding will be on August 8, 2010 at the KPOP and Culture Fest.
KFEST wants to introduce a feature never done before in any KPOP event. This will allow passionate fans from Fan Clubs of different Kpop Groups to be more vocal with their support for their idol(s) by creating unique cheers and chants!
FC with the best fan chant will receive cash prize and exciting gifts from our sponsors.
Rules and Mechanics
Anything goes as long that it will not involve fire. ^^ You can come up with any gimmick. Please inform us if you’ll be using light sticks so we can make an adjustment for lightings in stage area or an MV or concert video of your idol/s to be played in the background.
An FC must register up to 20 members max and minimum of 10 members for them to qualify. E-mail to jjangevents@yahoo.com, put FCB as subject, the FCs name and member’s complete name.
Participants will be given a maximum of three (3) minutes to perform their chants.
Each FC is given one (1) minute to promote their group or fan gatherings after their performance.
This is open to all talented Filipinos who can sing or dance like their Kpop Idol! Here’s your chance to show what you’ve got. If you can sexily flick your leg like SNSD or chest pump like the 2PM boys, or if you can belt it like BOA or groove like Rain, this is the contest for you!
This contest is divided into 2 CATEGORIES: Sing Category and Dance Category.
*Sing Category (CLOSED) You may join solo or as group (maximum of 4 members).
*Dance Category (CLOSED) Must be a group (minimum of 4 members, maximum of 13 members).

This contest offers limited slots for Sing and Dance competition. Registration period will run from June 01 till June 23, 2010. Pre-judging competition is on June 27, Sunday, 4PM - 7PM at the Megatrade Hall's Function Room B, 5/F Mega B, SM Megamall, EDSA cor. Doña Julia Vargas Avenue, Ortigas Center, Mandaluyong City PH. This will be the highlights of our event's launch party and we're happy to inform everyone that TV Patrol will cover the event. We encourage all participants to give their best and be in costume!
Note: Performance must be within a minimum of two (2) minutes and thirty (30) seconds to a maximum of four (4) minutes.
1. Individual Cosplay Competition is open to participants who wants to cosplay their Kpop Artist/Idol, Korean Drama Actors, or Manhwa Characters.
2. Registrations begins at 10:00AM and closes at 2:00PM. The participants must be in costume upon registration.
3. Participants are required to bring 2 copies of a full body picture of the character he/she is cosplaying for judges' reference.
4.Participants are given a maximum of thirty (30) seconds stage time. Failure to comply with the time limit will result to the disqualification of the participant(s) .
6. The judges will pick 2 winners for Best Male and Best Female cosplayers*. They will be decided by the judges in terms of these criteria:
In celebration of Filipinos' fandom to Korean music, fashion and culture, Jjang Events, in partnership with Megatrade Hall1, invites you to the first Kpop Music and Culture Event of the year happening on August 8, 2010 at the Megatrade Hall, Building A, SM Mega Mall.
The event will open its gates to everyone at 10 AM and will last untill 9PM. This event will have exciting and unique activities that will spark the interest of enthusiasts and will also host competitions that will motivate and inspire aspiring talents to take the chance and show what they've got.
We are inviting Exhibitors and Fan Clubs to take part in this event where they can sell their merchs/items related to the event and organize activities within their allotted booths.
We are also encouraging all FCs to join The Fan Clubs Fan Chant Battle and win exciting prizes (Rules and Mechanics will be posted soon).
